This was 196+ forum Munich 2025

The 196+ forum Munich on 8 - 9 October 2025 attracted over 275 attendees, including 23 international speakers and moderators, as well as 44 sponsoring partners, at the Hotel Bayerischer Hof Munich.

The motto of this year’s 196+ forum Munich was “Navigating upswing” and the various conference sessions with valuable takeaways featured engaging panel discussions on the hotel brands A by Adina and Mercure Living, inspirational Masterclasses on Branded Residences with the Future of Hospitality Institute and Property Management Systems powered by MEWS as well as a CEO-interview with Dr. Josef Vollmayr, Co-Founder & Co-CEO Limehome, a reveal of the brand new PanAm hotel brand by JP Hospitality. We would like to thank our moderators and speakers as well as all attendees for their active participation.

Five start-ups competed for the Hospitality UPGRADE Award, with the winner GREENJET represented by CEO Niklas Al-Deek.

The Gala Dinner proved again to be the highlight of the event with celebrating Cocoon Munich Theresienwiese as the winner of the Hotel Property Award 2025 and the finalists Chiemgauhof-Lakeside Retreat, at Lake Chiemsee, and Hotel Dips & Drops, Flachau in Austria.

On the following day, four Walk & Talk Tours guided us through different parts of Munich to showcase classic sights and newest hotspots, along with site visits of hospitality highlights and culinary stops, ending with a delightful finale at Object Carpet´s fascinating showroom.

Highlight: The Hotel Property Award 2025

Established in 2002, the Hotel Property Award is considered one of the most prestigious annual European hospitality real estate awards. An independent jury nominates up to ten hotels and shortlists three finalists, which are presented at the 196+ forum Munich. The award ceremony and announcement of the winner took place at the Gala Dinner at Hotel Bayerischer Hof Munich.

The Hotel Property Award 2025 received a total of 25 hotel submissions from nine different European countries. Thanks to the independent jury, who had to face a tough selection, we were able to find this year’s Hotel Property Award finalists and the winner: Hotel Cocoon Munich Theresienwiese and the two finalists Chiemgauhof-Lakeside Retreat, at Lake Chiemsee, Bavaria, and Hotel Dips & Drops, Flachau in Austria. Congratulations to all three of them!

Hospitality UPGRADE Award 2025

196+ forum Munich and Hospitality Pioneers are supporting young innovative start-ups from all over Europe in partnership with an industry partner.

The award appeals to innovative start-ups making a relevant contribution to current and future challenges of the hospitality industry, along the whole value chain from hotel development to hotel operations.

An advisory board selects up to five finalists from among all applicants to pitch against each other at 196+ forum Munich. The Award is presented at the end of the Conference day.
